"Coach of the new generation": João Palhinha hails Bayern Munich’s Vincent Kompany
João Palhinha, the Portuguese international midfielder, has heaped praise on Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany, calling him a "coach of the new generation".
Palhinha, who played under Kompany at Manchester City, said the Belgian is "a great manager with a lot of potential".
“He's a very good coach, a very good manager," Palhinha said. "He's a coach of the new generation, he's very modern, he likes to play with the ball, he likes to press high, he likes to dominate the game.
“He's a very good tactician, he knows how to prepare the team for each game, he knows how to motivate the players, he knows how to get the best out of each player.
"He's a very good manager and I think he has a lot of potential to become one of the best managers in the world.”
Palhinha's comments come after Bayern Munich's impressive start to the season, with the German giants winning all of their first four Bundesliga games.
Kompany has been credited with transforming Bayern Munich into a more attacking and possession-based team, and Palhinha believes the Belgian has the potential to lead the club to great success.
"I think he can win a lot of trophies with Bayern Munich," Palhinha said. "They have a very good team, they have a lot of quality players, and I think he has the potential to make them even better.
"I think he can win the Bundesliga, the Champions League, and all the other trophies that Bayern Munich are competing for.
"He's a very good manager and I think he has a lot of potential to become one of the best managers in the world.”
